Painting the city since 1972

City Painting Ghana opened its doors in 1972, and more than four decades on we are still doing the same thing we started with: putting honest, careful paintwork on the walls of this city. The bedroom we repaint in Madina gets the same surface preparation, the same materials discipline, and the same clean handover as the office reception we repaint overnight on High Street — that is the promise the firm was built on, and it has never changed.

Homes and workplaces, side by side

Most of our week is spent where most of Ghana lives and works. We repaint family homes and compounds across Accra, Tema, Kasoa and the surrounding towns, and we run programme-managed redecoration for corporate and institutional facilities — offices, retail floors, warehouses, hospitality properties — where the doors have to stay open while the work goes on. Two very different briefs; one standard of care.

Why people call us back

Repeat work is our real portfolio. Households call us back when the next room needs doing because the last one was done properly. Facilities teams call us back because the schedule held, the site stayed tidy, and the finish still looked right at the follow-up inspection. Surface preparation done fully, coatings applied to the manufacturer’s specification, every stage checked before the next begins — none of it is glamorous, and all of it is why the phone keeps ringing.

What we sign for

Since 1972 the paints have improved, the specifications have tightened, and the city has grown around us. What we sign for has stayed the same: work that is prepared properly, applied properly, and handed over in writing. Client references available on request.
